Star Thrasher 650 Twin Cam Camshaft — .650 Lift
The most aggressive cam in the Star Twin Cam lineup — built for high-performance street riding and track days.
Part Description
The Star Thrasher 650 is the top of the Star Twin Cam camshaft range — a high-performance, high-lift cam engineered for riders who demand more from their 2007-and-up chain-drive Twin Cam engine on the street and on the track. With .650" lift and a TDC lift of .189 x .189, the Thrasher pushes well beyond the territory of bolt-on performance and into serious build territory. Aftermarket pistons and springs are required, and piston-to-valve clearance must be verified by an experienced builder before startup. Done right, the Thrasher delivers the kind of aggressive, high-output performance that serious Twin Cam builds are built around. Recommended install with Star .655 Lift Spring Kit (TC20-20350).

Exhaust pairing matters: Star Cams will perform with all pipe configurations, but exhaust selection has a meaningful impact on results. Short exhaust systems create sound wave differentials that negatively affect low-RPM tune quality — a condition that cannot be fully corrected through tuning alone. For the smoothest low-end torque curve, a long 2-into-1 exhaust is strongly recommended. Trusted options include D&D, Fuel Moto, Bassani, ThunderHeader, and Krome Werks.
Piston-to-valve clearance must be verified by an experienced builder prior to startup — this is a critical pre-installation step, not optional. Experienced installer strongly recommended — this is not a standard bolt-on installation. Professional tuning required for best results.
