Unique combination of torque (intake lobe) and mid range (exhaust lobe)For use in 107, 114, and 117 stock M8

The Star 30/30 camshaft was developed by a knowledgeable and experienced team to deliver exceptional performance, specifically for stock Harley-Davidson engines with bolt-on upgrades. No internal engine work is required, making it an ideal option for riders looking for reliable gains without a full rebuild.

Exhaust Matters
One of the most common causes of poor low-RPM torque curves isn’t the cam—it’s the exhaust system. Shorty pipes, in particular, tend to create tuning challenges at low RPMs. While some skilled tuners can compensate for these issues using aggressive ignition timing and unconventional fuel curves, they’re essentially masking the problem caused by the exhaust’s sound wave characteristics.

For smoother and more consistent torque delivery, especially at low RPM, a long 2-into-1 exhaust system is highly recommended. Brands like Bassani, D&D, and Krome Werks offer excellent options that pair well with the 30/30 cam.

Common Misconceptions
Many riders blame the camshaft for dips in the torque curve, but in most cases, the root cause lies in exhaust design—or occasionally, tuning errors. It's important to understand that no cam, including the 30/30, can overcome poor exhaust flow dynamics or compensate for a tuner’s inexperience.

And one final opinion: auto-tuners alone won’t fix a torque dip. Proper ignition timing adjustments are essential to fully optimize performance.
